Summary of Job Scope and Expectations:
The Design Assistant is responsible for working with and providing support to Design Managers (DM) in creating store designs appropriate to various regional markets. The assistant serves as a liaison between the Design Managers and the design consultants. This position helps to manage the external relationships with consultants and internal relationships with Real Estate and related functions involved in planning store design. The assistant also performs regular follow up on milestones and invoicing related to design projects.

- Works with Design Managers and other members of the Design team to support their efforts in creating store designs appropriate to various regional markets.
- Helps to manage the external relationships with consultants and internal relationships with Real Estate and related functions involved in planning store design. Serves as a liaison between the Design Managers and design consultants.
- Performs regular follow up on milestones and invoicing with design consultants to help ensure design projects are on time and within budget.
- Prepares design presentations in conjunction with Design team and coordinates concept task force notes and presentations.
- Performs special projects as requested by Design Managers and the VP, Restaurant Development. Handles all requests completely, accurately, and within agreed upon timelines.
- Bachelor's degree in related field
- Minimum of one to two years of relevant experience
- Basic knowledge of design practices and process
- Basic knowledge of retail/hospitality industry and practices preferred
- Communication (oral and written) and listening skills
- Computer/technical skills and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with Photoshop and AutoCAD preferred
- Basic analytical skills
- Time management, organization, and prioritization skills
- Ability to participate in projects
- Ability to solve basic problems independently
- Ability to meet deadlines and multi-task in a fast-paced, high volume environment
- Ability to follow directions and pay attention to details
